Norad Travel Group, the Hampshire-based travel agency, hosted their annual company conference at Hilton St. Anne’s Manor in Wokingham on Saturday 27th April.
The conference theme was ‘Getting to Know You: Reflections of an Industry’ with an agenda to further understand the industry and the company’s trusted suppliers. Several airlines and tour operators were invited as attendees to help stimulate industry discussion and supplier relationships throughout the day.
The trusted suppliers in attendance at the Norad Annual Conference were: African Pride, Air Canada, Etihad Airways, Kuoni, Lufthansa Group, Lusso, Travel 2 and United Airlines. All Norad staff attended the weekend event, in which Group Managing Director, Linda Foote outlined the conference theme together with an update on the business, which included congratulating Operations Director, Anna McGurk, on her recent appointment to the Norad board of Directors.
Company Chairman Mick Gibbs was unable to attend but left the following message for conference attendees: “As a Board we have always believed in what we do, not what others would have us believe and making those hard decisions when required. Choosing trusted partners along that journey is also another reason as to our success and this conference is the next step as we tackle the challenges ahead. I hope that each of you are proud of our collective achievements and that as we all work as a Group we start to really unleash the incredible acumen we hold as a team to deliver day in, day out the ultimate in customer services and travel related solutions.”
The supplier panel featured Kevin Young - Senior Account Manager at The Lufthansa Group, Matt Lane – Key Account Manager TMC at Etihad Airways, David Holland – Director & Co-owner at African Pride and Gareth Hulmston – Sales Director at Lusso. The panel discussed topics around supplier relationship building and each panelist described what a successful supplier relationship looked like to them, together with the challenges they face within the ever-changing travel industry.
Speaking after the panel, David Holland – Director & Co-owner at African Pride said, “We have worked with the Norad Travel Group for a number of years and enjoy a mutually successful and beneficial relationship. The opportunity to be involved in their annual conference and engage with staff across all departments was too good to miss.”
Kevin Young – Senior Account Manager at The Lufthansa Group was pleased with the outcomes of the conference and added “Working with the Norad Travel Group is a true partnership in so many ways. I really got to know the Norad Team throughout the Conference, especially during the fun filled activities of the afternoon and evening! The conference concluded with an annual raffle prize draw in which Norad staff won numerous prizes thanks to generous donations from our trusted partners, key hotel partners and the Directors of Norad.
Group Finance Director Tara Foy was delighted with the results of the conference, which concluded with an evening dinner and party. “It’s truly energising to see our people so engaged with our brand vision and have the opportunity to be able to build personal and business relationships with some of our most trusted suppliers.”
