Norad Travel Group has underlined its growth intentions with the announcement that the company is to acquire an influential Northern Ireland independent agency. Enniskillen-based Erne Travel becomes the latest business to join the Group, following the successful assimilation of Howard Travel, the West Country holiday specialists bought in January last year.

Erne Travel was founded in 1982 by Ciaran O’Hare, who will retire after nearly four decades in the Northern Ireland travel industry. ‘It was time to become part of a bigger organization in order to give our team better tools, more purchasing strength and a chance to do an even better job for our customers as a result.’ said Mr. O’Hare ‘Norad are a perfect fit for Erne Travel as they utterly understand the importance of local conversations and local identity in delivering a first-class travel service.’

The Erne Travel team will join the whole of Norad Travel Group when it celebrates 35 years of travel industry success in May 2016.
